3D Calculation of Electron Energy Deposition |
. |
|
These calculations can be used for thermal stress studies of the target region, where the electron energy is converted to Xrays. Once the Xrays are created, similar calculations predict the deposition of energy, i.e. the dose, in a water tank. The distribution of charge can also be found, and this can be used in the real-time "Two Plate" method, in which the ratio of the current of electrons in the shallower regions of the target to the current in the remainder of the target is used to infer the energy of the beam.
